  1. The wettest city in the continental United States is Mobile, Alabama, which averages 67 inches of rainfall per year. Seattle doesn't come close.  Streets become rivers in less than 15 minutes.  This happens almost every afternoon during the summer.

  2. the rain forest

  3. Seattle. I used to live there, but I don't remeber any floods. I guess they have a really good sewer.

  4. Seattle....

  5. The rainiest inhabited places on earth, I can't really put this in order because there are so many different interpretations of the rainiest place on earth-

Cherrapunji or as they are deciding to call it in that area-Sohra, India-with (450 in.) or (11,430 mm.)

    Mawsynram, India-with (467 in.) or (11,873 mm)

Tutunendo, Colombia-it has (463.4 in.) or (1,177 cm.)

and Mount Wai'ale'ale, on the Hawaiian island of Kaua'i- it gets (460 in.) or (11,684mm) of rain, (all of these are a year's average).

But in a general area, these are the rainy places of the world:

    Pacific Northwest of North America,

South East Asia,( especially the island of Sumatra and many other Sunda islands.

Northeast India,( largely because of the monsoon rains and the water vapor because of high elevations).

    South Island of New Zealand

Many equatorial nations and cities- like equatorial Africa and the Amazon Basin.

Cloud Forests around Ecuador, and Papua New Guinea.

Any temperate rain forest and tropical rain forest habitats.

Of course if you're looking for urban areas that are very rainy and have a lot of floods...

There are the Gulf States of the U.S that receive a lot of hurricanes and do have a lot of flooding. Also the coastal cities there receive a lot of water vapor in from the gulf , so Mobile, Alabama like Max said is the rainiest inhabited place in the continental U.S

Pacific Northwest in North America, which has cities like Portland, Oregon,(I live here, I should know)

    Seattle, Washington

Vancouver, British Columbia etc.,(The thing is these rains stop in the summer times and it really just SEEMS like a lot of rain in the Northwest, not a lot of flooding here either ).

Southeast Alaska is very rainy with its temperate rain forests.

Bogota in Colombia is pretty rainy.

Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea is really rainy and probably has a good amount of floods.

There are lots of places and areas in the world that are really rainy, and a lot of it has to do with the geography of the location.

Some are really rainy because of coastal climates that bring in plenty of water vapor.

And some are rainy because of there elevation.

Well, I hope it helped a bit.
