soon i'll be watching my 3 cousins, the oldest is a 6 year old girl (major tomboy!!!), then the next is a 4 year old girl (girly!!!), and the last is an 11 month old boy. I had a lot of ideas planned to keep us busy throughout the day, but that was outdoor stuff and now i'm afraid its going to rain i dont want to set them infront of the tv the whole day so can anyone give me some activity ideas that we can do for fun.

  1. coloring books, puzzles. If you get involved and play with them it will make the "kiddy things" a little more fun.

  2. You can check out these websites for some great ideas...

  3. try getting a couple different colors of playdough ...kids will really enjoy...just make sure you watch the 11 month old

  4. For the six year old. She might want to play Simon says. Maybe the four year old too. Since I'm a tomboy I  love playing Simon says. If its ok you can play golf inside.  For the four year old. Maybe dress up, and make tents. The lil one  maybe peek a boo. Maybe you can bring some book to read to her. Or you can bring stuff animals.

  5. Do you have a porch or a garage?

Sometimes I bring mine 'outside' anyway on rainy days.  We'll put a vinyl tablecloth down on the floor and fingerpaint or use playdoh or watercolors.  Actually, watercolors are fun because then they can take their paper out and put it in the rain to see what happens.

Simon says is such a fun game to play when it rains.  It lets the kids be in charge for a while, too.  And at lunchtime, I like to plan some kid cooking.  Even making their own pbj can be fun for them.  Just mix it up and let them be in the drivers seat for a while.  I'm sure you'll have fun.

    Good luck!  :)

  6. play hide and seek, keep the 11 month old with you. color. play a board game, bring some from your house if youre going over there or buy a couple cheap ones from walmart. make sure its age appropriate though (no monopoly or life or anything, itll be super hard to explain and help the 4 year old and even the 6 year old)...i played hide and seek (manhunt since it was dark) with my neighbors i babysit, it was so dark but i wouldn recommend do it in the day, since you have smaller kids. i had a 4 year old,6 year old, and a 9 year old, we had to make sure the floor was clear and kept a nightlight on so we didnt fall over anything. play kitchen or house with them. if it rains but doesnt storm, and its ok with their parents, have them play or dance in the rain, just give them showers/baths after..if you really want to do that. ask them what they want to do, chances are since theyre smaller they wont wanna do anything with TV or anything. i play princess with the 6 year old i babysit. her sister when she was 11 months didnt really do much except play with her toys. so you could do that for the little one.
