  1. I actually prefer to fish during and after it rains, never when it just starts. The reason is because as it rains, the fish move closer to the shoreline as insects and worms are washed into the water. It's easy pickin's for the bigger fish around as the smaller ones move up to eat.  After it rains hard and floods out sections, you will find big fish in the flooded sections eating on the new found food source.  This will only work with fresh water, salt water species tend to move away from the shore line to a more saline environment.~good luck catchin'.

  2. yes indeed, (Pops, wind and rain are your friend) without wind there is no current, without current there is no fish biting. when its raining, fish don't know that, all you know, is you are the only one out there and fishing, so fishing in rainy weather don't make much a different. just make sure the skipper don't take you out on stormy night like deadliest catch

  3. Fish bite while its raining the same as when it's not raining.  However, when it is raining, under the murky waters, what you don't see is the fish performing Broadway musicals (this month I believe they are doing Oklahoma...it got rave reviews from the critics).  This is why they are nipping at your line.

  4. My father always said "wind and rain are a fisherman's friend".  We always seemed to catch the same, raining or not!

  5. Stripers tend to like rainy weather the go after shad in low light. Fishing should be just the same it is all about where the fish are.

  6. About the same, maybe better. Some people say they don't bite because they don't want to be proven wusses because they stay indoors (unless it's a lake or sea, then it's understandable).

  7. Fish bite just before a rain during a rain and after.

  8. This is my observation when before the rain arrives the fish will be very interested in feeding but when they stop,it means its gonna rain very soon so u wait for the rain to stop but its wise to wait longer just about 20mins after the rain has stopped. At the meantime stay as silent as possible,no movement at all just look with your eyes open at the water surface.Don't let the fish see or notice u there, they will start feeding as soon as u see the birds start feeding.the path of where to cast is mainly the breeze blows, look at the gentle water surface movements.Cast ur bait/flies according to the flow but stay away from the water's edge, stay low as possible.the trophy is caught like this within the period of 45mins after the rain/storm stopped.
