I've heard of it, so what.  For US$90,000-100,000 you can buy a car that cannot match the performance of many $70,000 gasoline powered cars and takes hours to recharge (refuel) once its batteries are depleted.  I can refuel may car in five minutes and for the $20,000 -30,000 difference in price I can buy 100,000 to 150,000 miles worth of gasoline.

Yes, most people in the environment section are going to have heard of the Tesla Roadster. Unfortunately, most of us cannot affford the $90,000 sticker price.
