Question:

Raising my high school GPA during senior year?

After years of slacking off in school, something finally clicked toward the end of my junior year. I really soaked in that this is the real deal, it's what counts, and it determines my acceptance into LSU. I got a 28 on my ACT. That's fairly nice, but there's still that GPA bit. I ended my junior year with a 2.531 overall GPA. If I work my butt off and make straight A's during my senior year, how much can I raise the GPA? Will it even make a difference at this point?

I'm taking two honors courses - Physics honors and Biology 2 honors.

Thanks so much!

  1. I don't know if you can get it above a 3.0 (you can do it yourself, if you want, with this: http://www.ehow.com/how_13513_calculate-... but from what I can tell about LSU, it's going to be kind of tough for you to get in with a GPA (especially considering that only the first semester is averaged by the time you'd apply) like that even if your ACT is really good, but don't despair, for you have options! You can always attend a community college or lesser university, do really, really well and transfer after a year, so just keep optimistic-- there're always options for you, no matter how hopeless it seems.
