Raja Bell clears the air after meeting with the Utah Jazz management - NBA News
A fortnight after Utah Jazz guard Raja Bell was sent home after clashing with Coach Tyrone Corbin; the veteran met the club management to clear the air and said afterwards that he felt good.
Jazz General Manager Kevin O’Connor also said that the issue was resolved and the veteran will play in the game against Detroit Pistons on Monday.
“That chapter is closed. We're moving on Raja is a competitor, Coach is a competitor and we're going to figure out a way to try to get to fifth or sixth place in (the conference)."
Corbin was also satisfied with the closed door meeting and said that we handled it and we moved on. Bell started all 30 games he has played for Jazz in this season averaging 6.9 points per game but after playing 18 minutes in the
game against Philadelphia 76ers, he got into a heated debate with the coach and was eventually sidelined for the next two games.
Bell is under a contract with Utah till 2013 and he has no intentions for a trade as he graded the recent event as a minor snag.
"We had a good conversation, talked over a few things and you keep it moving," he said. "I'll be here. In whatever capacity I can help, I will."
Jazz, at present, are in a desperate need of a good perimeter shooter, who can complement their centre Al Jefferson. The towering big has been on fire recently and is the very reason that the Jazz are presently in the post season
hunt with a 20-21 record. He will however not be available for the two crunch game against the Phoenix Suns and Minnesota Timberwolves as he is mourning the death of his grandmother.
With the trade dead line approaching they might be looking for certain changes. After the spat, it was thought that the Jazz might put Bell on the market, and his name was especially being attached with the Los Angeles Clippers,
who have been struggling ever since they lost Chauncey Billups for the season.
The meeting however has quashed any chances of that happening and the Jazz seem set to continue their charge towards the playoffs with the same cast.
