The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) has lodged a complaint against Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) captain, Shane Warne, for misbehaving with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sanjay-c88566 Dixit, the secretary of the state’s cricket association.
Warne is accused of abusing Dixit by calling him a “liar” and “egoistic” person.
Warne was furious after the curators in Jaipur didn’t provide him a pitch according to his own liking. He wanted the wicket to suite the RR strengths and claimed it was his right to get favour on home soil.
Things went totally opposite for Warne’s team, as his team lost the game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 52nd encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The nature of the pitch turned out to be more in favour of the visitors and the
RR skipper was not pleased with that.
His team conceded 196 runs and was bundled up for 133 once they came out to bat.
After the post match presentation, Warne walked over to Dixit and slammed him over the pitch. The situation was becoming worse and RR’s owner, Shilpa Shetty, had to cool things down.
Commenting on the incident, Dixit questioned, “The BCCI has already clarified that the pitch comes under the purview of the pitch committee and curator. So, how could I have acceded to his demand?”
He further added, “His (Warne’s) behaviour was totally unjustified and I have asked for action against him. Shilpa Shetty was gracious to come and calm things down.”
Rajasthan were victorious against the strong http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians (MI) team by seven wickets and that kept the team’s hopes alive for qualifying in the top four. However, things changed dramatically for the team, following Sachin Tendulkar’s criticism on the Jaipur
pitch.
The new wicket prepared for the last two home games of RR favoured the visiting teams, Chennai and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). This dented the confidence of the home team, as they lost both matches.
These matches were also the last ones for Warne on home soil, as he announced his retirement from IPL. The legendary player wanted to make an impression in the last season for his team, but conditions turned out to be against him.
