Rajasthan Royals express confidence in the Jaipur curators
The Rajasthan Royals, on Wednesday expressed confidence in the Jaipur curators and the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s Ground and Pitches Committee.
The Royals, in a statement, insisted that neither the Royals' captain, Shane Warne nor the players have held the Sawai Mansingh pitch responsible for their 63-run defeat at the hands of defending champions, Chennai Super Kings.
“We have confidence in the curator of Sawai Mansingh Stadium, and the Grounds Committee to select and prepare quality pitches for Twenty20 matches. Over the last four years we have nothing but praise for the ground staff who work tirelessly to provide the
best possible pitches," clarified the franchise today.
The clarification from the franchise management has come in the wake of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shane-Keith-Warne-c89672’s outburst over the last-minute change of the pitch for their Monday’s game against Chennai in Jaipur. Latter Warne’s criticism was backed by the former Indian Premier League
chief, Lalit Modi as he tweeted that the pitch was switched at the last moment to favor http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 and his men.
"A little http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AM-Samad-c1004 just whispered that the big game in Jaipur has been moved to a side wicket on the Square. Why? ask Rca official and CSK ...this is where board politics come in," the suspended IPL chairman had tweeted on a micro-blogging website, twitter.
Later the BCCI had also clarified that the Jaipur pitch for the IPL clash between Rajasthan and Chennai was not changed to favor the defending champions.
The franchise distanced itself from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Modi-c76470’s tweets saying that they do not subscribe to the views of Modi.
"We note that other comments have been made by other parties, including http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lalit-Kumar-Modi-c72144, in the media relating to the pitch. These are their own views and we would like to state that these are not those of Rajasthan Royals.”
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 management said that they have never attributed the outcome of a game to the pitch conditions at any ground adding that the Rajasthan Royals are happy with the quality of the conditions they played under in Jaipur and at all other venues they
have visited in the ongoing season.
