An unexpected hero with the ball for the Tuskers derailed the RR. Brad Hodge the former Australian middle order batsman took 4 wickets to send the opponents crashing.
The RR were hardly in the match and looked tense and under pressure with the enormity of the task of reaching the next round of the tournament after what was affectively a woeful campaign.
The start though was not that bad for the RR, after losing three early wickets they had made a semblance of a recovery and were placed at 63/3, however it all changed within minutes and within no time at all as they were sent crashing for a score of merely
97 runs only.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326 scored 20 off 13 balls with the help of 3 sixes. Yet it was barely a flash in the pan.
For the KTK, Sreesanth and Parameswaran were the other two main wicket-takers. The KTK came out all guns blazing and hunted down the target in a mere 7.2 overs. Brendon McCullum with 29 off 12 balls was the one who tore into the RR. He hit a monstrous straight
six of his fellow http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 player, Jacob Oram, and besides that hit he struck three more sixes in his enterprising innings.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Brad-Hodge-c1184 made full use of the batting conditions, he flayed 5 fours and 2 sixes in his unbeaten innings of 33 that came off only 17 balls.
With the win under their belt inside the first 8 overs, the KTK have given themselves an outside chance of qualifying for the last four, yet a lot of work remains before that is accomplished.
