Rajasthan Royals’ skipper Shane Warne blames batsmen for loss to Kolkata Knight Riders – IPL news
Rajasthan Royals’ captain Shane Warne has blamed his batsmen for their humiliating eight-wicket defeat to Kolkata http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Knight-c71599 Riders in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League on Sunday.
At Eden Gardens, the Royals were bowled out for a paltry 81 runs in their innings. No Rajasthan batsman could manage to contribute big. After surviving a few nervous moments, KKR overwhelmed the target easily, notching a convincing triumph with 37 balls
to spare.
Deploring his batsmen’s embarrassing performance in the game, the captain expressed that they played some “dumb” strokes during the match.
“Our guys played some pretty dumb shots. They played kid’s cricket. That was pretty disappointing,” Warne said.
The former Australian leg-spinner had earlier cited “inexperience and bad luck” as the reasons for his team’s terrible defeat to KKR on Friday. The two successive shameful defeats at the hands of the same opposition have severely dented Royals’ confidence.
Although the strength of the Rajasthan line-up has pumped up with the inclusion of Australian all-rounder Shane http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326, things are still not going their way.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals lost their second match in a space of just three days, making the skipper extremely unhappy.
“Our preparation has been fantastic. The feeling in the group has been fantastic from day one. I just don’t know how we failed to put up a performance. That was pretty weak, that was soft, that was embarrassing,” Warne added.
However, the former Australia bowler warned his rivals not to take them lightly any further. Warne, who had inspired the team to title in the inaugural edition of the League in 2008, said that cricket is a performance-based game and the players have to come
good.
Warne explained that the IPL is a tough competition but as professional cricketers, the players have to stand up to it.
The former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 player, who is also shouldering the responsibility of coaching the Rajasthan Royals, urged his senior players to step forward and do the trick for the team.
Warne further made it clear that if they do not perform well, the team will be looking for replacements.
