Rajasthan Royals v Royal Challengers Bangalore – IPL 5 – 1st innings – Live Score and Update
Royal Challengers Bangalore 189/3 (20/20 ov) - Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to field
On Monday, April 23, in the 30th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal Challengers Bangalore after being put into bat, have amassed a staggering total of 189 runs for the loss of three wickets at the end of their 20 overs, at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
RCB, who have three wins from six games, would be looking to better their standing on the points table by securing another win.
Before the start of the match, RCB skipper, Daniel Vettori said, “The bowling and fielding is getting better as we go along. The wicket has changed a lot from last year, it has become a good batting surface. It is always a test as a spinner here because of the size of the boundaries and the wickets. There's been some good scores here but we know it is going to be tough to defend. Dilshan comes back in and so does Appanna.”
The side got off to a decent start as openers, Virat Kohli and Tillakaratne Dilshan gave a stand of 23 runs, before Kohli became the first wicket to fall after he scored an innings of 16 runs off 16 deliveries.
The fall of their first wicket did not intimate the batting side as they were h**l-bent on piling a tough total on the board to give Rajasthan a run for their money.
Dilshan was in his zone today as he launched a blistering attack and hammered the bowlers all around the park without hesitation.
Meanwhile, with 60 runs on the board, the side suffered the demise of their second wicket when Mayank Agarwal found his way back to the pavilion after scoring 15 runs.
Chris Gayle, who came down the order, was a disappointment as he perished on a meagre tally of four.
The demise of Gayle brought AB de Villiers on the crease and the batsman who is currently in tremendous form forged a resounding partnership alongside Dilshan to rip apart Rajasthan’s bowling attack as the duo steered their side to a formidable total with Dilshan unbeaten on 76 and de Villiers on 59.
