Rajiv Ouseph demolishes Dieter Domke in Men’s Singles second round at Bitburger Open GP Gold 2012
England’s top shuttler Rajiv Ouseph showed a remarkable performance and easily advanced into Men’s Singles pre-quarter-final after defeating his local opponent Dieter Domke in second round clash at the Bitburger Open GP Gold 2012 in Germany, on Wednesday,
October 31.
The higher ranked Ouseph, who has been positioned at number 27 in Men’s Singles world ranking, showed a steely determination on court and destroyed local hopes by beating his experienced German rival in just 27 minutes.
Ouseph have been struggling hard for the last six months to find a good flow and he seemed to be in good form on court when he outplayed Domke in the second round by finishing up the match in two sets with a dictating margin on score board.
In the meanwhile, the home favourite Domke gave a good fight in the opening set but failed to maintain his speed and eventually fell against his English rival without creating a strong impact on court.
It was a crunchy fight in the starting rallies when both players put in their best effort and stayed close on the board at the initial stage of opening set.
However, the impressive craft and wonderful strategy helped Ouseph to create a small gap as his rival became a bit slow in his movement on court.
The in-form Ouseph did not show any sign of confusion as he remained in complete control of rallies until the end of first half.
After the mid-game break, Ouseph continued his focused run in the arena and remained successful in maintaining the gap without facing any considerable trouble.
The positive and aggressive shots of Ouseph helped him to claim the first set in a decent fashion with a 21-18 figure on the board.
In the second game, Ouseph did not lose his control at any stage in the starting half and maintained his upper hand over his German rival.
Until the one-minute break, the impressive Ouseph stayed consistent in playing with impressive speed and variations and remained ahead on score board.
After the 60-second break, English shuttler continued his incredible run on court and easily won the set with a crushing margin of 21-12.
Ouseph registered a spectacular victory over Domke by winding up the contest in straight games with a 21-18 and 21-12 score on the board.
