Rajiv Shukla makes assurances of better injury management during IPL – Cricket News Update
The Indian Premier League’s (IPL) newly found Commissioner, Rajiv Shukla, recently stated that he will make sure of proper injury management during the nation’s all-famous Twenty20 (T20) competition, after the Board of Control for Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 (BCCI)
advised the Commissioner to take the matter into consideration, following the national team’s injury stricken tour to England.
Speaking to PTI, Shukla stated, “during our meeting with franchises we will emphasise that they pay most attention to these problems and give instruction to the team physios on injury management to avoid injuries.”
“We will be paying full attention to these problems, we will keep in touch with physios, and various franchises so that any injury should be immediately addressed,” added Shukla.

The team’s poor performance, coupled with injuries, brought criticism for the national side for its lack of preparation prior to the series. Critics also blamed the players for their indulgence in the cash-rich IPL.
However, Shukla defended his ‘mega event’, citing that the IPL should not be considered as the only reason for the player’s defeat in England, since there were many other injuries on the tour as well.
Despite backing the IPL, the Commissioner also added that managing injury problems will be top priority for the upcoming season of IPL, which will be done by crafting a precise co-ordination with the BCCI as well as the franchises, in order to make sure
the players remain fit for domestic matches as well as readily available for national duty.
