Rajon Rondo confident about Boston Celtics' title ambitions next season – NBA Update
Rajon Rondo showed last season that he is one of the best point guards in the NBA as he led the Boston Celtics by his individual brilliance to the Eastern Conference Finals. Boston’s season came to an end at the hands of the eventual
champions Miami Heat but it wasn’t without facing stiff competition from the Celtics who took the series to seven games.
However, Rondo is not one to dwell in the past and speaking to media representatives while attending a sponsorship event in Honk Kong, he claimed that the Celtics have a high chance to win the NBA Championship next season.
Rondo seemed happy with the changes made by the Boston management in the off-season and feels that the summer acquisitions have not only made them stronger but increased their chances of making a title run.
"I think because we have a talented group of guys... the additions of Courtney Lee, [Jason] Terry and Jeff Green," Rondo said.
"We have high expectations every year... I think we got a lot better than last year."
Apart from the addition of Jason Terry and Courtney Lee to fill up the void left behind by the departure of Ray Allen, Boston have also picked up two exciting prospects in form of Jared Sullinger and Fab Melo. While Melo still
seems a bit immature, Sullinger can be an asset provided he can prove the NBA medical team wrong and overcome his back issues.
The C’s also re-signed Kevin Garnett for the next three years and if not the best, the Greens are certainly the second best team in the top heavy Eastern Conference which is dominated by the Miami Heat.
Rondo also seemed unworried by the recent upgrades made by the Los Angeles Lakers, who brought in Dwight Howard and Steve Nash to play alongside Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol. Rondo said that the Lakers may have an impressive line
up on paper but will be off not much value at the end of the season if they are unable to form on court chemistry, especially in the backcourt which features Steve and Kobe.
