Rajon Rondo wants to be the best point guard in Boston Celtics franchise history – NBA News
Rajon Rondo is definitely a man at the peak of his NBA career. The Boston Celtics point guard has made his way into the core of the team after starting as a young player who did not have any major role in the
offense.
Over the years, Rondo has worked hard to become more involved in the Celtics offense, and is now one of the major contributors on that front. However even after accomplishing so much in his run with the Celtics,
he is not satisfied.
Rondo wants to stay with the Celtics for the long run, eventually becoming the franchise player of the team and the person around whom the Celtics rebuild after Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce retire.

And he has also made his intentions clear about his dream to retire as the greatest point guard in the history of the Celtics franchise.
Rondo was recently in Philippines for a Red Bull sponsored youth clinic, and according to Interaksyon he said:
“I hope I can end my career as the greatest point guard in the history of the Boston Celtics.”
Rondo’s wish, although achievable, will require him to work really hard. After all, it is the Boston Celtics we are talking about over here. They are the most decorated team in NBA history, and have a heritage
and history that goes all the way back to the 1960’s, when they were the most dominant force in the NBA.

If Rondo wants to become the best one guard in Celtics history, he will be compared with the legendary Bob Cousy, who is credited for revolutionizing the position. He was the one who invented the no-look pass,
and used to dribble behind his back to protect the ball from the defenders. That is a tall ladder to climb for Rondo, but given his talent and skills, he has the capability to achieve it.
Rondo has so far not voiced any intentions of parting ways with the Celtics, and if he sticks around, he will eventually be given the torch to carry for the Celtics when Garnett and Pierce hang up the boots.
The point guard has a long career ahead of him, in which he can accomplish great things and is definitely on the right track at the moment.
