Rakhim Chakhiev undergoes successful surgery – Boxing news
Rakhim Chakhkiev, the Russian number three cruiserweight pounder who recently put his hands on WBC’s Baltic cruiserweight title, has undergone a much anticipated surgery and according to the sources the fragments causing the problems have been successfully
removed.
According to further details, Rakhim, infamous as the Machine, was bound to have a surgery in his left elbow. The problem diagnosed was fragments, three to be specific, that initiated a series of striking pain in his elbow. The fragments have now been successfully
removed by his specialist in a hospital situated in Hamburg Germany.
It must be kept in mind that the young 29-year-old heavyweight pugilist has taken the whole of the cruiserweight division by storm. He has secured 17th position in the world cruiserweight rankings whereas sits at 13th position in World Boxing Organisation’s
(WBO) and 18th in European Boxing Union’s (EBU) cruiserweight standings.
The talent, resilience, and sheer determination of the young southpaw is evident from the fact that despite of having intense pain in his left elbow he was able to take on Alexander Kotlobay effectively and not only collected a unanimous decision in his
favour but also grabbed the WBC’s Baltic title authoritatively.
Being a left-handed pounder the machine inflicted much damage to its vital organ since it was already rusty. It is this reason why the Russian decided to undergo a surgery to resolve the matter once and for all and as Rakhim quoted himself after the successful
surgery, “I’m doing very well. Tomorrow I’ll leave the hospital and then begin training as soon as possible.”
Rakhim, punched off his professional career in 2009 and since then has entered the squared ring a total 12 times. The lethalness and raw power of the 200-pounder is visible if we take a look at the number of knock out wins. The machine has vehemently nailed
nine of his 12 opponents by knocked out hence securing a perfect, emphatic, and impressive KO percentage of 75%.
Chakhkiev’s emphatic win over Kotlobay is being considered as the most vital in his thriving and surging career since Kotlobay was not only much more experienced than Rakhim but also was in his third WBC Baltic title defence bout. Before Rakhim two men tried
to remove the gold off Alexander but were not able to do so.
Rakhim will continue his training after going through a series of rehabilitation and injury healing programmes.
