Great city.  Nice atmosphere with lots to do, especially for families.

Cost - the cost is really housing.  If you want to live in the city limits, you're going to pay more.  (But I always felt it was worth it if you're going to take advantage of what Raleigh has to offer.)  Beyond housing, it's about the same as anywhere else.  (Taxes and insurance are actually cheaper than a lot of places.)

Schools - very good schools in the city and surrounding communities.

Types of kids - same as anywhere else, a real mix.

Fantastic place to raise a family though.

It is the capitol of North Carolina. It is big, but not as big as alot of city's. Cost of living is probably higher than were I am (I am in Old Fort NC).

well i went to greenville...but the ppl that live in greenville say that raleigh is like the city in north carolina. Its a lil more expensive, and the houses are a lil more expensive too. Overall in North Carolina...they say it has good skools. I saw alot of black ppl in walmart wen to greenville. But some i also so white. Nd supposebly they talk like "hey yall" with a country accent.

i live about 30 mins. away from raleigh and it is like any other busy city, also just like every where else, there are all types of kids there but most seem preppy, not in a stuck up way though, if by cost you mean housing it can get very expensive so if money is a concern try other counties around the area such as person county or durham. the schools in raleigh for the most part are very good school and kids there will get a quality education around kids who for the most part have a good head on there shoulders.  but if u do decide to move some where right outside of raleigh there is  a charter school called Roxboro Community School that allows any one who lives in the state nc to attend and has great teachers and students that care

p.s. people who have lived in raleigh there whole lives dont talk to "hey yall" they talk the same as northerns do

lol I live there so I know it has country and city not too big, Nice kids and people. Not too high gas prices lower at some parts there, its nice some places watch out for but nothing bad, its a Great place!

Its the city...lots of cars, could be expensive...ect...
