I have 512 MB of ram. not alot, so i wanted to add some more. bought a 1gb stick at teh store today, and popped it in. ( i did it correctly, computer was off, was in the right way) now i start up my computer, check to see if it worked out. nope. instead of having 1.512 gb that i was supposed to have, or even the 512 i started with, i now have 248 MB. can you help me get my 512 back, or even better, the 1.512 i wanted. thanks all

  1. thats some big problem

    go get a mecanic

  2. umm either restart your computer or your computer calculation of ram is wrong cause there shouldnt be a way to actually lose ram

  3. have you pushed the new ram all the way in? because it seems like the pins aren't matched up correctly. take out both your ram and reinstall them. make sure you ground your self or you risk frying the ram.
