Ramadan Section: Do you know of any good sites...?

Question

In which one can learn the basics of how to read arabic. I can read basically nearly anyway and if I put my mind to it, I hope to be reading by Ramadan

Can anyone provide me of some quick learning sites becuase I really want to be able to confidently read by Ramadan.

As Salaam Wa Alaikum.

I am new to the net so I cannot recommend any but I would like to make a suggestion. While learning to read Arabic, I suggest that you learn to understand it at the same time. It so dissappointing and a sort of wasted effort that I have learnt to read but not understand. I feel that there is something wrong with the way Muslims teach Arabic in that we do not pay attention to understanding. It just does not make sense to learn to read a language while you do not understand a word. I know that it is a great blessing to read the Quraan but I think to gain knowledge of Islam is even greater and by understanding the language of the Quraan we would be anle to learn and understand more.
