Im going to tunisia in september, and people keep saying becareful its rammadan? What is this?!?

  4. Ramadan is a holy month of muslims.. It is perfectly fine to go and visit them just try not to eat in public cause the muslims will be fasting and it will incourage them..

  5. Ramadan is the period when Muslim's fast.  This means that they cannot eat during day light hours.  You should be alright in Tunisia as the tourist area's will still have food available and the locals will still work, but you may find it more difficult to get alcohol.

  6. Did you ask them why you need to be careful? Ramadan is a month of blessings. It is the month in which all believers fast. Fasting, in Islam, means staying away from food, drinks, and sexual intercourse from the dawn till the dusk. Muslims are not allowed to say any kind of bad words or hurt other people's feelings (or hurting physically) during the fasting. That is, they are ought to be even more careful than usual.

    Ramadan teaches people the feelings and life of poor people. It reminds people of the blessings they have. It is a month of blessings and strengthening of faith.

    002.185 Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful.

  7. Splendor Seeker said it all. so being careful is BS. u don't have to, lol. actually it'll be even nicer, cuz thats when most of the holy/traditional things go on. u'll see more nice things bout us than u usually would. lol

    no one sees nice things bout us muslims anymore :'(

  8. Ramadan is where muslims fast during daylight hours. The reason they do this is to do with the 5 pillars of Islam. One of which is fasting, muslims do this so they can feel what poor/homeless people feel.

    You should be fine in Tunisia, if you have any worries speak go into a travel agents and they should tell you.
