Question:

Ramadan: What is one question that people have the hardest time answering?

Now, I have one in mind that has haunted me since childhood. I can't explain it with a few words but through a lot of talking (four hours to be exact) and still, it is never enough proof, but good enough to get someone thinking. One of my best friends in an Atheist and she does not believe in the existence of God. What makes it harder, she's not a "science" person either. Now, I could care less if someone doesn't believe in God, but when it's my best friend, that's a bummer. I want what's best for her. So, I talked to her for four hours straight in one day, and a few other times later. She later on told me that she now feels that there is some "higher" being but is still not fully comfortable. My explanation basically opened the door for her, but wasn't enough for her to walk through it. My question is, how do you explain the existence of God without going on for hours? No offense, but I can not stand answers like: "look around you, all these thing, who do you think created them?" or "how else did the world come together?". Well duh, nature and evolution! (not the humans from apes one). So, how do you explain the existence of God in the least words possible? Let me tell you something, this definitely is the hardest question to answer.

  1. do you know this story of Abu Haneefah and the atheists when they waited for him for a debate, i couldn't find a translation, maybe you can translate it:

  2. Quran is one of the proof of the existence of God. If it was written by a human surely we would have seen thousands of errors and contradictions in it.Its language, its style, its accuracy of scientific facts ..everything is a proof of  existence of God.

  3. people should take it or leave it according to their own personal assessment without relying on hearsay or mere tradition.

    you should let her chose her path.

  4. i don't know about non scientific people, i think they are the harder to convince of anything...

    how about causality? cause and effect.

    all stuff have a cause

    stuff causes other stuff to happen

    stuff needs other stuff to cause it in order to happen

    stuff doesn't create or cause itself

    whoever created the first stuff is definitely different than the regular stuff

    call him cookie if you like, he sent a message identifying himself as THE God.

    @Anita

    as far as the universe, we know for sure that it needs a creator from the fact that it was created since it has a beginning and an end.

    as for God, all i know is that he doesn't need at all anything. and i stop here.

    @Anita

    will you believe in God just by seeing him? it wont work for me, if i see him now i can just say its some kind of illusion and magic !

    @Anita

    fair enough, i didn't mean to offend.

    @Omar

    i cant really know whether you are serious or trolling !

    does your post come from you or from your keyboard?

    even humans know about automation, why not God !!! really weird questions you have sometimes.

  5. If the complexity of creation and every different force cooperating on every scale (even societal) aren't enough to illustrate a guiding intelligence, then what's left?

    Nothing we know about could achieve the perfection of this arrangement.

    This is pointed out a LOT in Al Qur'an. In this are signs for those who consider, etc.

    Its the proof offered by Allah in the Book.Its not necessarily Who created it, but How. There's no chance it all came together without guidance. Evolution has parameters. "Nature and evolution" is no explanation at all.

    Omar:

    You're guilty of your own accusations. You gave a superficial assessment, based on your own feelings, side-stepped the point and labelled it the product of a diseased intellect. Rush Limbaugh makes his money that way.

    The point was not the complexity, the point was HOW. Its the basis of ALL science. Proof of guiding intelligence isn't dependent on the Prophet or the Qur'an. Its apparent in the product. Any example of the most advanced technology is like a stone wheel compared to the formation of a gnat.

    The Prophet and Al Qur'an showed the direction to discovery, to guide human effort, not to tally every detail of existence.

    As for your linked question, Akbar could just have easily been a representative of ANY group you disagreed with. Our media is choked to breaking with this kind of cheap propaganda. You do this with your own independent effort?

    Algebra...Al Jibr....It came with the 'Arabs, specifically, the muslims.

    I wonder how many scientific discoveries we've missed because of this kind of approach! If this is what you have to contribute, you have no justification for sitting in judgment over the people who answered this question.

  6. @ Mustapha...Nice clourful website, please in your own words.

    @ Love Allah Real one....get real...your the type who would show us look at that building somebody made it, now look at that mountain somebody made it..it was Allah...get real...

    @Dawn...can't read Arabic...but i know the Atheists challenged Muhammad, and all he could show was the verses from his Quran...and they told him....'don't tell us what old tales of the past, show us something new' Muhammad after he was challanged did nothing and felt his Ego smashed to pieces, after 5 years when he gathered enough bandits used another method of force to implememnt his religion, you read about it in the battles he had 'as Self defence'

    @ Sami...is it Allah or cause and effect, make up your mind? If Allah started something and the rest remains on Cause and effect then he is NOT required anymore, everything depends on these cause and effect events...he's not needed to intervene.

    @ Shia of Ali....Allah guides whom he wills is a Quranic verse used by Muhammad against those that would not buy into his lies...Muhammad new people are too clever to accept his lies with no evidence, easy way out is 'he guides whom he wills' lol. He made excuses for many of his other ploys. and a verse or two.

    @Not afraid to stand alone....Errors...a faithful person is incapable to see errors...he is too blinded by faith to see errors, look at the explantions over the centuries given for the errors found in Quran...it's easy to given explantions than to create doubt about your religion....like you can see errors in Ahmadiyaas beliefs...but they have their excuses...similar to you.

    @*_*tHeKi... : you need to read a few other holy books and count them as part of from God aswell...you'll believe everything.

    @ Adam ...even scientists know things happen in a complex way...but is there a single entity behind it...which you can't prove except for the words of men who say they talked to one...and there's lots of such men...with such mental disease.

    @Shah ....still not answered the question proof for god? a single entity doing everything...

    @Anjuman W ...no holy book from God gave such details of cells, we had to wait for Kaffir scientists to give us this infromation.... you forgot to mention in your analogy that the cell you are explaining does not contain a supreme being, science explains how the cell may function but it does not say a little supreme being is inside it making things happen..rather it uses complex modes of action to describe it's functions....not Allah is making it happen...

    @Rumaitha...."look around you, all these thing, who do you think created them?" or "how else did the world come together?".   At least your reasonable.

    @Anita..... theists 'if God doesn't need a creator, why does the universe need one?' Exactly!

    There's no evidence to prove existence of a single entity..no point showing us your book..i'll show you mine lol....but there's plenty to support things obey laws each dependant on others to bring into being, if there ever was a creator he will have been created by the same laws and subject to the same laws of creation and destruction.

  7. I agree that it is hard. You are not going to convince her in a short period of time but whatever you say will influence her in future. It is good that you are looking for more answers to help her along. Apart from helping her you would be learning too.

    Try this one. We originate from a single cell that we cannot see with our eye. This cell multiplies and differentiates itself into forming tissues and organs. This little cell knows exactly where to put the eye and the nose. Can you fathom the amount of information that is stored in this little cell. This little cell has to be a plan drawer, an engineer of every kind, a master builder, a factory with a production line etc. It is mind boggling, the amount of information it carries and the amount of work it does - all on its own. There is no way that something like this can just happen. There has to be a supreme being.

    Sometimes the answers to life's little puzzles are not classified into sections and quite often we can find the answers we are looking for in other sections. So keep searching and Inshallah you will have the information you require. Please check our site out.

  8. It is not thy responsibility to make them follow the right path; But Allah guides whomsoever He pleases. And whatever of wealth you spend, the benefit of it will be for yourselves, for, you spend not but to seek the favour of Allah. And whatever of wealth you spend, it shall be paid back to you in full and you shall not be wronged. (Qur'an 2:272)

    4 hours is a lot of time to spend on futile arguments, best for her to see your actions, it is hard to convince someone with just words, they need to see you implement what you say it is best.

  9. The Holy Scriptures: the Torah, the Holy Bible and the Qur'an, I believe they are the signs He sent us through prophets, I truly believe in them as the word of God.

  10. Hopefully you can get some things from this website. It a creation website and it shows signs of how things are meant to be and how  creation is the truth.
