Ramadan people, is this normal practice in Islamic countries?

A blind boy in Pakistan was beaten to death for not memorizing the Qur'an!

The teacher had suspended the boy from a ceiling fan for an hour before he beat him. When he realised how badly Mohammed was hurt, he apparently fled instead of taking him to hospital.

An autopsy concluded that Mohammed, who was blind from birth, died of severe head injuries and also found marks of "physical torture" on his body. Police said the fatal blow might have been caused by the teacher dropping the boy when he cut him down from the fan.

According to the boy's father, the teacher had also previously smashed him over the head with an iron rod, cutting him so badly that he needed stitches.

Koran is the book of islam and the blind boy was beaten to death for not memorizing the koran by his teacher.  

You figure it out and go ahead with the thumbs down. Thumbs down are given because no one can deal with the facts. For all of the thumbs down please provide proof that this did not happen and it's all American B.S. news.

I've read about that stuff happening in Africa aswell! People being put to death for not Memorizing the Quran! This has nothing to do with Islam, it has more to do with uneducated villagers ~!

It happens, I have known a few cases personally. Once a teacher beat a kid so hard that his gal bladder exploded and he died.

When I was in Pakistan I have been beaten by teachers for no reason at all. I distinctly remember my Quran teacher in school. I had recently moved and got admitted to a new school. The Quran teacher was a total jerk. He used to push me around for no reason and pick on me specifically in class. I would be reading, he would come up behind me and smack me on the back. I never did any thing to warrant it either. His class was once a week. I remember I used to pretend to be sick every time I had his class. This was in fourth grade! Can you imagine how old I was back then?

All those who say it does not happen have obviously never been to school in Pakistan.

We need child protective services in Pakistan, even one incident like this is one too many.

But its not just the religious education. Even in other classes teachers were cruel. And I was one of the top students in my classes so it wasn't like I was not doing my homework or not paying attention in class. The whole education system is messed up there.

this is an extreme case but yea those A holes do hit kids. When i was going to one, that a***e use to hit me and others (including girls) for no reason (or that he was in a bad mood). These Frikin fake mullahs are unbelievable.   I left that place just cuz of that.
