  12. If you are nervous then perhaps you have made the wrong choice.  When one accepts the religion they choose they are filled with joy and adoration for God. It is one of the most important days of their lives and they are excited and eager, not nervous or anxious.

  16. @ Jaryd

    Is pork the only thing?

If so, then perhaps you should accept Islam and continue to eat pork.

Atleast you would be rid of the filth of unbelief!

    And with time, who knows.

You may quit pork as well.

  17. Don't ruin your life.

  18. Al humdu illah I'm so happy for you I remember when I first said the shahada I was so scared but its the best thing you will ever do and just keep reminding yourself that your making the right dissuasion if you need help with anything email me

  19. Congratulations brother, you have grabbed a hold of the strongest handhold that cannot be broken! Allahu akbar!

From one revert to another, if I could give any advice it would be to continue to learn everything about your deen and then to put that all into practice.  There will be some people in your life who won't react the way that you want them to, this is only out of fear of what they don't know about Islam.  Just be patient brother, in times of hardship, Allah (swt) brings ease.

MashaAllah i reverted 2 years ago just before Ramadan as well, and never experienced anything more spiritually fulfilling than that of the month of fasting.  InshaAllah I hope that you have a wonderful Ramadan, and reep all the good hassanat (good deeds) that Allah (swt) offers us during this beautiful month.

    Salamu alaykum

  20. CONGRATULATIONS!!! I just converted 2 weeks ago and it was amazing alhamdullilah! I had my friends there and it was very emotional. During the Shahadah I felt at peace and then after I was so happy and calm. It was a feeling of I don't feel guilty anymore for not being Muslim. I know you must feel the same - but once you know the truth you must act upon it. Before I converted I was ashamed because I knew the truth of Islam and embraced it with my heart but had not yet converted. When I did it was if i finally found where I belonged. Now i am learning to pray and looking forward to Ramadan. Please message me if you have any questions - never forget Islam is a worldwide community and wherever you turn there will be a sister or brother to help you when you need it.

  21. Marhaba! May Allah Guide you to the Right path and shower His Blessings on you!  I shall pray for you.

Your feeling after reciting Shahada can be summarised in the following words.

Your heart wouldn't be hard anymore.  Instead, only light and calm.  It is like the tears washed away everything bad in you.

After praying to your Creator and after putting your face, and your honor, on the ground in sujood in silence, to the one who allows you to live, tears of happiness will flow down your face.

You will understand that life is not purposeless.

  22. peace be upon you brother Mario,

welcome to the family of islam. all praises are to god who has guided to you to islam.

you are embarking on a momentous journey. it is only natural to feel a little anxious. by accepting islam and submitting to the will of god you are acknowledging your complete dependence upon him. god says in the qur'an:

    (003:160)

If Allah helps you, none can overcome you: If He forsakes you, who is there, after that, that can help you? in Allah, then, Let believers put their trust.

so put your trust sincerely in allah.

once you have declared your shahadah, god willing, you will find peace of heart and mind.

    (013:028)

Verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest!

    and god's promise is true.

  23. Mate, I myself have lived with Muslims all my life.

They are a truly amazing set of people. If i had to chose any faith, i'd convert to being a Muslim. The reason i have not converted and this does seem very selfish, is because i am Australian. I have grown up learning to love and cherish meat. If there was a way to be Muslim and still be allowed pork products, I'd be in heaven. All i can say is Congratulations for joining. And don't take notice of that first guy. there are a lot of Dickheads all over the world. If they knew how wonderful the religion truly is, I'm sure they'd convert too.

    Salaam Male'com.

  24. congratulations.  I was also nervous, but day by day and with the help of the Muslims in my community things got easier.  Just put your trust in Allah swt and stick close to some decent people from the mosque and inshallah things will be fine.  I wish you the best
