My mother in law received a courtyard rose in a pot with a trellis...can this be overrwintered in an apartment or should it be planted outside at her mobile home. ( in canada where she spends her summer only)

  1. Plant it outdoors. It needs the sun and water from rain and snow. Prune it back early fall. They don't like the cold in northern climates but they sell styrofoam covers for rose plants in nursery garden centers. Use one of those after you prune it back. Roses go dormant in the winter so won't hurt them. Be sure to feed the rose plant up to the first week of August with rose food from the garden center. They like frequent watering especially during the first year and they hate droughts!
