Ramires sets personal best- Fantasy Premier League Team of the Week – Part 2
With the Goal Keeper and three of the four defenders sorted out in the previous article, it is time now to move on and see which other players managed to make it to the Team of the Week with their point earning exploits over Gameweek 6.
As for Fantasy Premier League managers, it was another consistent week in the points earned area as the average points earned by the managers was 45, which is five points higher than Gameweek 5’s tally.
Defenders
Micah Richards – Manchester City – 7 points
Chelsea wing back, Jose Bosingwa and Newcastle United defender, Steven Taylor may be level with the Manchester City player on points earned, as all the players mentioned stand on seen points each, yet it was Richards’ all round performance which earned him
a place in this week’s team ahead of the competition.
Defensively solid, Richard’s managed to last the entire match and helped his defence keep yet another clean sheet. However, it was his hunger to get involved in almost everything good which came out of the City side, as well as a few incisive attacking runs
which managed to earn him a Bonus point as well.
One can expect Richards to be a regular on Team of the Week, provided of course that Roberto Mancini plays him.
Midfielders
Ramires – Chelsea – 15 points
The Chelsea midfielder seemed to be a man on a mission this Gameweek as he managed to atone, somewhat, for his horrendous miss against bitter rivals, Manchester United, at Old Trafford by scoring two goals for his side at the weekend.
While Blues fans would gladly trade both these goals for one against United, it was sure to put a smile on a number of Fantasy Premier League managers who gained 10 points for Ramires’s goal scoring exploits.
A further 3 Bonus points managed to take the player to an all time career high tally of 15 points. Well done lad, well done indeed.
Barry Bannan – Aston Villa – 11 points
Teased after kids from his school learned of a certain fruit that matched his name, Aston Villa player, Barry Bannan, now has something to throw back at them as he made the Team of the Week for Gameweek 6 with an impressive 11 point tally.
Ticking almost everything on the point scoring check list, Bannan not only managed to score a goal for five points but he also managed to help his side keep a clean sheet. 3 Bonus points later and Bannan has plenty to be cheery about.
In only 0.4% of the sides in the Fantasy Premier League, it seems that very few managed to reap any rewards from his superb performance.
The one question that needs answering about the player is whether this was just a flash in the pan, or whether the Aston Villa player can keep up these performances in the long run, in which case he will become very hot property in the Fantasy transfer market
very quickly.
The weekend’s Fantasy review is continued in the next part of the article: Fantasy Premier League Team of the Week – Part 3
