Ramiz Raja in line for Chief Operating Officer post for PCB – Cricket News Update
Pakistan’s former Captain and currently a well-renowned cricket commentator, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ramiz-Hasan-Raja-c83872, may be considered for the designation of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), reports stated earlier this week.
According to a PCB official, the newly found Chairman of the Board, Zaka Ashraf, has already offered Ramiz to take charge of the post and that the head is willing to offer the former cricketer a worthwhile package, but at the same time has laid down terms
for the appointment, which include Ramiz to bid farewell to his media commitments and contracts.
“Ramiz is Zaka Ashraf’s first choice and he has already discussed terms and conditions of the COO position with the former test captain and is willing to offer Ramiz a very lucrative package that will compensate the former test captain for ending his media
assignments and contracts if he takes over,” said a PCB source
The official also added that the new that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397 was confident that Ramiz would be the right find for the post, especially due to the former player’s immense cricketing knowledge and that with his vast number of contacts within as well as outside Pakistan,
will be an added advantage for the Board to develop favourable terms and associations.

The former Test Skipper holds an immense know-how from the world of cricket, having already served a major share of his career with Pakistani national squad, earning some milestone performances for the side.
Ramiz made his first ever international appearance for the Men in Green during a Test outing against the English visitors in March, 1984 at Karachi. A year later, the right-handed top order batsman also premiered his limited overs stint, after marking his
appearance in a One Day International (ODI) match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754, in February, 1985 at Christchurch – where the player batted a top score of 75 runs.
However, soon after his premiers, Ramiz trailed on to producing some imposing shows for the Men in Green, which earned him a solid spot on the roster for over a decade.
Till his last appearance for the national side, under both the formats, Ramiz played 57 Tests and 198 ODIs, scoring 2833 and 5841 runs respectively.
