The Spanish centre-back was dropped by Jose Mourinho during the game against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League and many believe that he is now considering leaving the club.
Real Madrid have been drawn in the toughest UEFA Champions League group this time round and they will be against the champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 as the battle for the European crown begins.
While playing their first game of the UEFA Champions League, Madrid had to face the English champions, Manchester City, and even though the game was considered to be extremely important, Jose Mourinho decided to bench his first-choice defender, Sergio Ramos.
While many believe that he was benched because of his low standard of performance, others believe that Mourinho did it only to give European exposure to the young Raphael Varane, who replaced Sergio Ramos in the Real Madrid first team.
Whatever the case may be, there is no doubt that Ramos felt out of place as he was benched for a young French player.
Therefore, there were rumours which suggested that the Spanish defender is planning to leave the Santiago Bernabeu-based outfit.
Many even suggested that the Spanish defender will be joining Madrid’s arch-rivals, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, in the upcoming winter transfer window.
However, after listening to such rumours, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Ramos-c33096 came out in the open and told the fans that they cannot question is loyalty with the club he is currently playing for.
The Spanish centre-back was quite straight about his views regarding his problems with the team and its fans and while speaking about this new agenda, the Spaniard said:
“I’m not here to have debates with the Coach. Criticism or praise are things that don’t affect me as my mentality is the same one that got me where I am and I’m going to carry on like that,” he declared in an interview with AS.
“I’ll defend my ideas and principles to the end and if there's something I don't like why should I have to stay quiet about it?
“I don't have as much experience as [Luis] Aragones but, as he says, I've been around the block. Nobody can question my work and my loyalty to this club.”
After being benched during the Champions League game, Ramos has been a regular part of the Real Madrid first-team.
