Ramos downplays importance of El Clasico

Ahead of this season’s first La Liga El Clasico , the Spanish international has expressed that the fixture will not have any lasting consequences on the title race.

Nevertheless, Ramos is convinced that the Clasico has come too early in the season to have any lasting effects in determining which side will win the Liga BBVA title.
"Even if we lose the Clasico, the league will not be decided just yet. Obviously, 11 points would be a lot. However, there have been bigger gaps in the past that were still overturned,” Ramos was quoted as saying by AS.
The defender then went on to discuss his side’s UEFA Champions League match against Ajax. The 2010 FIFA World Cup winner suggested that Ajax are fully able to complicate things for Madrid and therefore they should be given due importance.
"We have to focus on the Champions League [game versus Ajax] now. After that, there will be time to think about the game at Camp Nou."
Real Madrid will take on Ajax at the Amsterdam Arena on Wednesday.
