The Spanish international has taken out time to bury the hatchet between the two players after they were involved in a war of words earlier this month.
Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos has expressed his admiration for Bayern Munich goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424, suggesting that he deserves to be applauded after converting from the spot during the final of the Champions League.
In wake of Bayern Munich’s defeat against Chelsea in the final of the UEFA Champions League on Saturday, Ramos allegedly took a jibe at the German shot stopper, ridiculing his loss in the crucial fixture.
Jupp Heynckes’ men were left distraught and disappointed as they lost to a weaker Chelsea side in the European showdown.
What makes matters worse for the Bavarians is the fact that the prestigious tournament’s showpiece even took place in their home stadium, putting the odds heavily in their favour.
According to many, Bayern were the stronger of the two teams, and since they were hosting the English Premier League side at the Allianz Arena, they were tipped as heavy favourites to emerge as champions of Europe from the match.
However, it was the Blues that outclassed the German giants and secured their first UEFA Champions League title on Saturday.
Consequently, the Madrid defender used the opportunity to hit back at the Bayern keeper for his comments regarding the Spaniard’s penalty miss in the semi-final.
The full-back missed a crucial penalty during Los Blancos' last four clash against the Germans and Neuer criticized him by stating that 'I didn't know Sergio Ramos enjoyed blasting his spot kicks over the bar'.
As a result, the World Cup winner went on to make a mockery of Bayern’s defeat against Chelsea by expressing that he was unaware of the fact that Neuer enjoys losing finals.
However, the former Sevilla player is ready to put this exchange of insults behind him as he stated that the German keeper deserves to be lauded.
While talking to reporters, Ramos quoted:
"If he scores from the penalty spot, I have to congratulate him. I have to tell him to keep playing at a good level as a goalkeeper and that if he wants to play as a striker someday, then that is his choice.”
