Rams' quarterback A. J. Feeley out against Seattle Seahawks – NFL News
St. Louis Rams quarterback A. J. Feeley on Wednesday confirmed that he would not be a part of the team’s starting line-up against Seattle Seahawks in the week 14 game of the National Football League current season on Monday.
Talking to reporters, he said that he is facing problems in gripping the ball properly and that his thumb is pretty sore and swollen.
“No, not going to be (ready for Seattle),” Feeley said. “I think a week is when we’ll be able to gauge things. We don’t want to get to a point where it’s giving away every time I grip the ball because a bone is shifting. Then it
probably won’t work out.”
The season is proving to be a nightmare for Rams. They have won only two games and lost 10, only to be placed at the bottom of the National Football Conference West division. Apart from the disappointing performance, they have
been bothered by the injuries of many players.
Last week when Rams travelled to play 49ers, they had 11 players on the injury list. Prior to that, they had 12 players on the list in the week 12.
Feeley, who is suffering from a fractured right thumb, got injured in the last week game against San Frncisco 49ers. He started that game as a replacement for Rams’ regular quarterback, Sam Bradford, and sent 12 successful passes
of 22 attempts for 156 yards. Rams lost the game 26-0.
This season, Feeley has started three out of five games in which he has completed 53 passes of 97 attempts for 548 yards. He has one touchdown to his credit.
On Wednesday, both Bradford and Feeley did not take part in the practice session, and it is expected that Rams will start with a new quarterback on Monday.
After the injury, Feeley’s thumb has responded well to the treatment, and his condition is much better than it was initially. The quarterback thinks that he will be fully recovered in a week.
“I think it’s past the swelling part now. It’s starting to subside. It should be all right here in a week. Once the swelling gets down, I’ll get a true gauge of grabbing it, gripping, etc. I don’t know yet,” he said.
