Rams prepare to take on 49ers at Candlestick Park on Sunday – NFL News
The people at the camp of St. Louis Rams are disappointed for the poor record the team has maintained this season, but they have allowed themselves not to worry about the failures and to move on. Relieved Rams are now preparing
for another tough encounter as they travel to face the National Football Conference West leader-board, San Francisco 49ers, at the Candlestick Park in the Week 13 game of the National Football League current season on Sunday.
Rams’ running back Steven Jackson scored a rushing touchdown against 49ers last year, since then no running back has been able to do it against 49ers that have a very strong defensive line. Jackson is not overambitious, but expects
to perform well this weekend.
“It’s going to be a tough game,” Jackson said. “I’m not coming in expecting anything different. If anything, I am the last guy to score a running touchdown against them so I am expecting more. That’s the mindset I have going into
Sunday.”
Rams have won two games and lost nine in the season and are placed at the bottom of the NFC West division. 49ers hold exactly the opposite record by carrying nine victories and two defeats under their belt.
Rams’ coach Steve Spagnuolo also admitted that his side is up against one of the toughest defence in the league. However, he maintained that his players are ready to face 49ers and hoped that things would go as planned.
“I still think in this game that you can’t do just one thing,” he said. “Teams figure it out pretty good. We are going to try to remain balanced. We have a pretty good running back and hopefully we’ll have some schemes that will
work. But they certainly are a pretty stout run defence.”
Earlier, the coach had also said that his players would try to give tough time to 49ers and play as best as they could.
Meanwhile, Rams’ offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has also appreciated the 49ers and cautioned his players that the front seven players of their opponents are one of the best in the league. He also said that 49ers would prove
to be a tough opponents and that his players should be ready to face them.
