Arsenal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aaron-Ramsey-c3065 has admitted that he is looking to win gold with the Great Britain Olympic squad and feels that the team can draw inspiration from the current GB gold medal winners.
Bradley Wiggin went on to claim gold for GB in the cycling time trial event, and Ramsey feels that his win can act as a source of inspiration to the football team, to go on and give it their all in their upcoming games.
He told reporters: "I absolutely agree, I get a buzz out of watching a person like him winning a gold and what he has achieved so far.”
"We’re going about our business quietly we’re getting stronger as the tournament goes on. Before we met up we'd never played together before and we’ve come so far since then, there’s a good team spirit here and I believe we're getting stronger each game."
He then went on to admit that the football team was also looking to secure a medal before the competition came to an end and admitted that they would be willing to give it their all to do so.
“We’ve been watching a few events on the telly at night when we’re resting and it’s been interesting seeing the other athletes compete," added Ramsey.
He then went on to admit that if they were to win gold, then that would perhaps be one of the greatest honours that the squad members could ever achieve and hence they were going to try and push themselves to achieve that target.
"It will certainly be up there," agreed Ramsey. "We’re going to try really hard to achieve that’s what we’re here for to try and get a medal for ourselves and for the country."
The GB team is set to play in the quarter finals and the way they have been playing so far, they are one of the favourites to finish in the top three.
However, if Stuart Pearce can manage to get the team to continue producing the form and class they have been showing in recent games, they stand a very decent chance of claiming the gold medal.
