Arsenal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aaron-Ramsey-c3065 has gone on to reveal that Arsene Wenger and the Welsh FA were against the prospect of him playing for Great Britain in the upcoming Olympics.
Wenger has been against the football playing in the Olympics, as he feels it is not real football. At the same time, he insisted that the tournament is just going to add to the fatigue of the players.
Despite his club manager not wanting him to make the trip, Ramsey went on to insist that he didn’t want to give up on the once in a life time opportunity and as a result, he ended up joining up with the squad.
When talking about how he ended up being a part of the team and why it was important for him to play in the Olympics, Ramsey is quoted to have said: "We had a meeting in which he gave his opinion and I gave mine"
"The Olympics is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, plus it is the chance to play in an international tournament, an experience I have not had.”

"I’ve followed the Olympics all my life and though I did some athletics at school, I never dreamed about being an Olympic athlete and I never thought about taking part because there isn’t normally a Great Britain football team. So to be part of it and perhaps
win a medal is exciting."
Ramsey then revealed that the FAW was also against the decision. The primary reason for the FAW being against the move, was because they didn’t like the idea of having a unified Great Britain team in the contest.
"We had one meeting with the FAW and they said it was up to us. They made it clear how they felt but said the ball was in our court," the midfielder added.
He then went on to admit that the players in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wales-c3041 squad were old enough to make their own decision in regards to these situations and for this reason, he went on to opt to be a part of the Olympics.
Should Ramsey end up coming out of the tournament without any injuries, there shouldn’t be any problems.
However, if there are some setbacks due to his participation in the tournament, then things aren’t going to pan out so smoothly for him.
