Rana Naved-ul-Hasan Decides to play KFC T20 Big Bash in Australia
Pakistan’s discarded All-rounder Rana Naved-ul-Hasan has decided to leave for Australia to play the T20 Big Bash League for Tasmania. The player will be missing the final rounds of the ongoing Quaid-i-Azam Trophy.
Rana Naved was not selected for the upcoming http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 tour even though he was cleared after a one-year ban was imposed on him. The all-rounder has been performing exceptionally well in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy, and was hoping
to get a call-up for performing duties in the national squad, but he was adamantly rejected by the selectors.
This has left Rana with no choice, but for him to opt for the Australian T20 Big Bash series starting later this month. Rana Naved said that he was not under Pakistan Cricket Board’s central contract so he will not need any permission
from the board to take part in the Australian Big Bash tournament.
He said, “I don’t require the PCB’s permission as I am not a centrally-contracted player. I will miss three rounds of the Quaid Trophy for which I have already taken permission from my department.”
Rana was utterly disappointed because of not being considered for the New Zealand series and said that he was confused about the merits on which the players were being selected for the national team. He openly questioned the exclusion
of Shoaib Malik and Kamran Akmal from the team even though the players have been giving commendable performances in the domestic circuit.
“I have no other options than to fulfil my contract with Tasmania. In spite of a good show in the Quaid Trophy, I was not selected for the team, I cannot prove more on my fitness and form after which I’ve decided to go to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746
rather than playing here,” said Rana who is among the top wicket takers in the Quaid-i-Azam trophy.
The dejected all-rounder said that he still wishes to play for the national team because playing for Pakistan has always been his priority. He clarified that playing for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tasmania-c854 did not mean that he could not perform his national
duties as his contract with the Australian club allows him to be released for national duties.
However, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319 has not downplayed Rana’s prospects of making it to the national squad for the 2011 World Cup by saying that all players have an equal opportunity of making it to the World Cup and
the selectors will consider every player for the squad.
