Pakistani cricketer, Rana Naved-ul-Hasan has said that he has nothing to do with match fixing. The all-rounder has rubbished the claims that he was involved in match fixing during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Rana’s name has been being tagged with a suspicious character caught, making various phone calls during BPL matches. The person named Sajid Khan, also from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755, was taken under custody by Bangladesh police.
Apparently, Sajid has photographs of him and Rana. The alleged spot-fixer also has the e-mail address of the all-rounder.
The Pakistani born cricketer was summoned by authorities; he explained to them how Sajid had his pictures. He, however, had no idea how his personal e-mail address got to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sajid-c87977.
He said, “I have provided the Bangladeshi authorities with the information they needed from me. The authorities in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 showed me a picture of the man they had arrested.
“I informed them that I had met him at a domestic match in Karachi last year. That day, after the domestic match he had approached me along with many other individuals as a fan. I have never seen him since then I have no idea how he obtained my email address.”
Rana along with cluster of other International cricketers took part in the inaugural BPL. The all-rounder was part of the Dhaka Gladiators, who eventually went onto lift the championship.
The 34-year-old was an integral part of the Gladiators roster. He played eleven games for the champions and took eleven wickets. However, his batting abilities were seldom needed as he was required to bat in only five innings out of the eleven matches he
played. The total numbers of deliveries Rana faced in the BPL were 17, scoring 15 runs.
The most important contribution from Rana for the Gladiators was in the final against Barisal Burners, when he notched up 2 wickets from four overs, conceding only 24 runs.
Rana was happy to be part of the BPL and believes that the tournament will gain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Daniel-Harris-c1310 support in its next editions. He said, “I feel that the BPL could become an integral part of the international cricketing calendar in the years to come.”
