Rana Naveed meets Ijaz Butt, appeal adjourned
Rana Naved ul http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 early this year. However since then this pace bowler is seeking a return in the national side. Naved had been wanting to meet Ijaz Butt for a long time now, however he
was not able to, due to the busy schedule of Mr Butt. Eventually however, he managed to finally meet the PCB chairman to plead his case against the one year ban handed out to him by the Cricket Board.
Rana went on to say, "Friday's meeting was good and I hope to get good news soon."
Naveds appeal was supposed to be head by a tribunal headed by Justice http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Irfan-c64444 Qadir on the 25th of September but, his appeal has been adjourned again. A PCB lawyer stated that they will soon be announcing the new date for the hearing.
Naved was one of the seven players who was punished by the PCB during their detrimental role in the national team and there were allegations that these players had deliberately underperformed. The winless tour against Australia was followed by fines, suspensions
and bans. Naved was fined 2 million Rs in addition to being banned for one year. The rest of the six players have either had their ban revoked or fines lifted.
Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Yousaf were in fact even recalled for the National side, due to a string of embarrasing defeats in the team playing against England. Rana Naved has played 9 Test matches and 74 ODI’s for Pakistan. He has been playing county for
the last few months and believes that his experience with county would certainly have a positive impact on his game. Naved’s test appearances to date remain limited and have been mostly unsuccesful. His form fell away drastically in 2006 and it is time, he
gracefully calls it quits before he is actually axed from the side. It is definitely time for the Pakistan cricket board to give an opportunity to younger bowlers.
"I have lot of cricket left in me and I am desperate to play for Pakistan. It was disappointing to see http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 lose on the England tour where I could have been successful because of my experience in county cricket." Naved who has been desperate to join
the National side went on to say. One can surely expect that Mr http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 will make a wise decision in this regard.
