Randall ‘The Knockout King’ Bailey wants Floyd Mayweather jr. next – Boxing News
Randall Bailey, the new IBF welterweight world champion, is eager to make his mark in the industry. His last fight, which won him the title, was the ‘knockout of the year’ fight against Mike Jones, who suffered his career’s first defeat at Randall’s hands.
Bailey, who never got the respect he deserved in the industry, thinks it is finally time for him to eat the big fighters. In his recent interview, Bailey expressed that he wants to take on Floyd Mayweather jr. next. "I've been avoided forever," he said,
"but now I'm coming off a world title fight win that ended with a punch people are going to be talking about for a long time. If I had a choice, I'd fight Mayweather next. I like the way Floyd's fighting. He's not running around so much to try to win on points.
He's giving guys an opportunity to hit him and that's my type of fight."
He added that he told Jones that he was going for a knockout and that he knew this was the only way to win the fight. He added that he had previously watched a few fights of his opponent and he knew that winning via decision is not a possibility.
As of now, Floyd Mayweather is serving his 90-day jail sentence, which will end by August. Currently, Floyd has no fights scheduled but there are chances of him facing Amir Khan by 2013. If he is in good shape once he is out, he might have a fight by November.
However, his updates have not been good enough. According to Mayweather’s lawyer, the pugilist is losing his strength and muscle tone as he is not getting enough space to exercise and enough calories in his diet. He also hinted on Mayweather’s retirement if
the pugilist loses his shape.
For now, Randall Bailey has no choice but to wait for the unbeaten American to come out of jail and decide if he wants to move on with his career or not. Facing Randall is not something Mayweather or his camp has thought about but it can always be an option
for the unbeaten American.
