It was noted in King George III of England's diary on July 4, 1776 that "Nothing of importance happened today."

lol..this made me laugh when I found it.

  1. The Declaration of Independence was adopted by congress on July 4th. They didn't have fax machines, or computers fast enough to reach the king that same day.


  2. Hahaa, well if he didn't go back to the day he obviously wouldn't have know what happened, it took a few weeks for information to get back to England, and though we celebrate independence day on July 4th we weren't independent until 1783 we were fighting for our independence
