  1. The 99 store is ripe with barely-legal goods. If there is a problem with lead, mercury, or any other kind of toxic poison in a product, it can be found at the dollar store.

I would never buy any type of liquid or food from them. The only people who sell imported toothpaste, form India or China.

Walmart has the best deals, from my experiences.

  2. Yes,I have a dollar tree and a dollar paradise. I find the best deals at Goodwill, because our local target will donate all sorts of item to them on a regular basis.I have bought a $150.00 imported wooden box(hand painted in India) for $7.00 and lots of really nice clothes for like $2.00 a pop, even jackets.I also rack up at JC Penny when they have Sat. sales, got shirts there for $1.28 last week.My favorite cleaner is plain old bleach, cheap and it kills germs!!!!

  3. I don't buy cleaning products from the 99 cents store. They sell stuff that is from some company we've never heard of. Even if you find a name brand at the 99 cents store, it ends up costing more than if you bought a larger size. I get the best prices at Walmart or Target unless I get it at Sam's club. I never buy cleaning products at a grocery store; way too overpriced. I use Food4less for produce. The cleaning products I like best are Simple Green, Lysol spray with bleach, Pine Sol, Mr. Clean, & Soft Scrub. I only buy Dawn or Palmolive for washing dishes. They are much better than the cheap off brands. You don't have to use as much, so they last a lot longer.

  4. YAY RANDOM

  5. Yes, I have a dollar store near me.  I buy mostly paper towels which are the same brand I can get at the grocery store but cheaper (marcel).  I also find good deals on wrapping paper and especially bows.

For other products, I find good deals at Walmart for some things, but find that Target has more selection on some home products (drinking glasses, dishes, etc) and are just as cheap as Walmart.

My favorite cleaning product is mixing bleach and water.  I got a spray bottle and mix the bleach and water and it works just as good, if not better, on my shower and sinks than any product I could buy and is much cheaper.

  6. Yes I have both a Dollar tree and a 99 cent store near me and they are great.

I found the best deals at super Wal-Mart.

Any lemon detergent is great, And I like the cheap toilet bowl cleaner it works best for me.Also I buy all my canned veggies at the 99 cent store for over half the price .

  7. I like the dollar store a lot sometimes, there's a few of them near me, and they have some amazing stuff like wine goblets. I hardly ever use them, why pay $10 a piece? I also like to keep an eye on the cheapest options at the grocery store (my favorites are sometimes less than a buck!).

Bon Ami is my absolute favorite.  It's an old fashioned scrubbing power, and for really stuck on stuff, it rocks.  It's also cheap as heck, .89 at the most. It's not a chemical, so it can be mixed with other stuff like soap for stubborn problems.  When I've gotten desperate, I've used it on the glass cooktop, and even there, it hasn't scratched yet.

A scrub brush with a good comfortable handle does more than most chemicals, and you only have to buy it once.  I actually splurged on the $10 brush when I just couldn't get gunk off the tub with a rag, and was shocked.. I was done in 5 minutes.  Sometimes, you do just need the right tool.

A small amount of good bleach for stubborn or really gross stuff.  I use the splashless, so I don't accidentally use too much, and dilute about 10 or 20 to 1 with water.  It can't be mixed with other chemicals, so I don't always use it.

I like vinegar for cleaning too, it's still a really great deal, and a little gentler than the bleach.  You need to use a little more than the bleach, so it's not quite as cheap.

Baking soda isn't a bad idea, and can be bought in bulk.  I only use it for deodorizing, but some people swear by it as a general scrubbing powder.

Lots of the affordable liquid soaps are good, I used dermassage for years, and never needed hand lotion.

Do you ever use pieces of pantyhose as scrubbers?
