Random question....?

Question

is there any possibility that we are being watched... meaning, a live satellite like for example NASA that captures videos or something like that. or perhaps the FBI has anything of that sort. I don't think this makes any sense. lol My little brother asked me something like that... dont know where he got that, but it made me think???

I wouldn't doubt it at all. I looked up an satellite view of my house on google earth website. It was crazy! I could see the cars in my driveway, and the junk in my backyard.  I think they can see whatever they please.

Since our own government (US) is spying on us:  phone calls, Internet sites visited, and library books checked out, it wouldn't surprise me. It is unlikely though, that they could manage to watch every person in the country with satellites.

There is a list of suspect books that libraries are supposed to keep a record of who checks them out.  I got a copy of the list from one library and it is amazing what books are on it.  One of them that comes to mind is "To Kill a Mockingbird"!!

That is pretty ridiculous, considering that it is a classic and is often required reading in schools.  Also, there is nothing even remotely suspicious or having anything to do with terrorism in it.  Perhaps it is because it has the word "kill" in the title.

The phone spying is done by computer monitoring for key words, presumably those that could be associated with terrorism.

I was in the military. Some of the things we would see, were not known to the public. When the public finds out about it, there is something better to replace it. If you know there is a camera on a spy satellite that can read a license plate, there is probably one that will read the vin number off the dashboard.

yup there is...i personally think that the government watches and monitors everything we do, maybe im just being paranoid but it think that tap our phone lines, check our emails for possible threats, and all other forms of communication

I agree with others that the government does a lot of stuff we don't know about but if it's not worth spending the money on..then most likely they aren't doing it.

i think so... everyday.. but it will only focus on you if you mentioned something that interest them or if you have something that registered hot in their radar...

thats actually a very interesting question. yes they could... and in some places they do. government satelites aren't powerful enough to zoom in on me typing on my computer, but they might be able to get  faint glimpse of you walking down the street. but this costs mega $$ and they don't do it unless they are highly suspicious. infact, they really only do it in the middle east, and in north korea... where its too dangerous to send a spy or a soldier. its a spy technique that was first used by the US in the cold war to search for nuclear launching sites.

when you think of the way technology has grown in the last 50 years, and all of the secrets that have come out in declassified government documents, it's entirely possible. downright plausible.

Actually yes there are satellites that photograpg the earth. And they can zoom in and take real time pictures of almost anywhere on earth. There are even technologies to see through cload layers with these satellites, though its a little more limited. But if you have seen the "google earth" program there is a VERY basic example of your satelite photography technology that exists today. just go to good and type in "googlearth" and you can download a program where you can see photo's of lots of different places on earth all taken from satelites.. granted its not live, but those than control the satellites can take live images and even video.

Its true. Theyre are probably cameras in my shower. But I always thought they were from the people who built my house. hahah
