My mother use to whip our butts when she thought we were sassing her.  She would also get us for being lazy and for not doing our chores, for misbehaving and other things.  We are all grown now and have children of our own.  Now we understand the frustrations she went through.  Payback is a Mother!  I can testify. 2. children should not cry when you are beating them, unless you want them too. - wha yuh crying for, you want some more?? me ent give you nothing for you to be crying!! slap slap slap.  OR orrrr, so yuh feel you is man/ooman in here, you standing up and taking licks?!?!?! and you ent want to cry! (come on parents, make up yuh mind. you either want me to cry or you dont, but you cant have it both ways)

3. when quarrelling, ignore your child until you are ready to hear the answer!  feel free to use phrases such as - hush yuh mouth!, and yuh mouth to d**n rude! of course by then your child would have stopped talking so you may need the following to get an explanation: you ent hear ah talking to you? answer me, all the time you mouth big big?

Note: if your child even has the nerve to say ' but mammy, you just told me to hush' feel free to give them another cut tail.
