Fedor is by far the favorite, despite what Captain A fans may like to think. That being so, what are his realistic chances of coming up with an upset win? Now, what will most likely happen? Give the play by play round by round....

  1. I can understand Fedor being viewed as the favorite, especially after what he did to Sylvia. People who say "Fedor would destroy him" are know-nothing fan boys. Fedor very well might end of beating him quickly and decisively. But I would expect Randy to make it a fight and I would not be at all surprised if he won. He is as good at game planning (and sticking  to the game plan) as any fighter and he has the skill set that would be most tailored to defeating Fedor. Fedor almost got tossed by Lindland--he would have been tossed if he had not accidentally grabbed the rope. I'm not saying Lindland would have beaten him off that throw, but he would have put him in a bad spot. Randy is kind of a bigger Lindland.

  2. Fedor is Fedor.  Look at Randy's record.  He needs to stay retired if he wants to stay healthy.  Fedor would destory him.

  3. Fedor by armbar in the first round.

  4. Round 1 - KO Round 1 Fedor

  5. Honestly, I don't think Randy Couture is that great. He is 15-8 with 2 wins in the heavyweight division, which included wins gonzaga and sylvia. Not impressed at all. It took randy randy all of the rounds to get the win over sylvia. It took fedor 36sec.

I really don't think couture could even beat big nog..fedor has 2x.

Right now I don't think there is a match fedor couldn't win unless someone opened a cut up on him. Fedor has no fear and has never lost even ONE round in his life.(unless you count the fight where he got opened up)

I do think randy would make an awesome game plan however he would hold it up 2 rounds tops before fedor throws an armbar around him.

Randy himself has said fedor is the best heavyweight ever and that is the only reason why he wants to fight him.

Below is my answers from a previous post why fedor is that d**n good and why nobody would beat him anytime soon(including the spider)

I really don't see Fedor losing anytime soon unless someone can get a lucky knockout or open him up with a devistating cut.

He is a “Master of Sports” in Sambo, the highest honor you can achieve, as well as multiple world championships in Combat Sambo. He is also a black belt in Judo. He was an avid strength trainer in the Russian army and shows the all purpose strength to prove it. His upper body takedowns are some of the best in the division and he has thrown men 50+ pounds heavier than him to the canvas with ease.(he would out grapple Anderson Silva with ease, and would be able to avoid the takedown even easier)

He can shift his hips for a submission like a world class lightweight. He is maybe the best arm bar practitioner in all of Mixed Martial Arts, being able to throw the submission from virtually anywhere in the ring with astounding speed.

He is a very under-rated striker with excellent boxing skills and very good leg and body kicks. He has knockout power in both hands and although he throws unorthodox punches he is uncannily accurate with them. He has redefined striking from the guard, his ability to power through an active closed guard is staggering.

His two greatest attributes as a fighter are gifts that not many in the world possess. He is incredibly instinctive during scramble situations in MMA, I personally have never seen anything quite like it. He almost never loses position during a transition situation. But his greatest talent is his total lack of fear. He has almost no sense of self-preservation and his will to win is truly remarkable.
