Randy De Puniet at LCR Honda?

Do you think Randy will do better than Casey Stoner at LCR Honda? I ask because I think they have similar riding styles (well - riding hard and falling off) but I am a fan of Randy and am hoping he will do well this year. I know hes doing well in the Valencia tests.

  1. I was gob smacked when he got a ride in MotoGP full stop.

A Bit like Alex De Angalis moving up. A GREAT rider, just not really " there " yet.

Randy was only great on a 250, let alone on a MotoGP bike.

Nobody can ever say that Randy is a Rossi / Kato / Pedrosa or even a Lorenzo now can they!

  2. in theory, he should, as he already has a years experience of riding a motogp bike.  however, he looks like a rider who doesnt know where his limit is at times, one of the reasons why stoner kept crashing was that he pushed the front tyres too hard, like a 250 rider, but in 2007 he was fine, most probably helped by the fact that bridgestone front tyres are very good, a few riders have commented on how good they are. another thing is that LCR will be well down the honda pecking order, and there are people who say that the kawasaki is a d**n good bike, and could really do things with better riders. so to answer your question, yes, i think randy should do better than stoner, as he should be over his "crash his brains out" phase by next season.

  3. hi this is blue, i also am a fan of his, i think theres a good chance, that he is going to win, fingers crossed ayyyyyyy

  4. Hi Cheryl H. I think he will definitely do better than with Kawasaki. not to say he did bad there. He did a great job. But Kawasaki at the moment are down the order with "normal" Yamaha's. good luck to him at Honda. the Guy has that little bit that's needed.  but I'm pleased to say so has most of - if not all of the 2008 paddock. its going to be great.

  5. Casey Stoner must be VERY good if Ducati took him on; they can pay a zillion for the best. I don't think de Puniet will be as good. I really hope I am wrong.

  6. Hey Cheryl

I don't know if he'll improve on what Stoner did with them, but I always feel he's got some big finishes in him - if he ever does finish that is!

It should be interesting - and I'm sure we'll all be wincing at some point this season ;o)
