Randy De Puniet motivated for his home round on Le Mans - MotoGP News
Pramac racing rider, Randy De Puniet, is ready to run in front of his home crowd at Le Mans, the fourth round at Monster Energy Grand Prix de France, due on May 15. He has recovered from his knee injury in the gap after the Estoril event.
Team-mate, Loris Capirossi, is also in high-confidence to strike at the fourth round and believes his Desmosedici is free from the front end traction issue.
Randy de Puniet is at home in the French Grand Prix for this race weekend and is keen to give a jump start to his 2011 season campaign, compared to his previous tough season starts. Puniet scored his first points of the season in the third round at Estoril,
but struggled against his pain in the knee, after the s***w was removed from his knee.
The French driver was feeling well enough to participate in the post race test held after the Portuguese Grand Prix and seated aside for the test day, early this month. He needed some time to recover from is pain.
Commenting on the coming occasion he, said, “I was very worried about my knee after the race in Estoril. When I got off the bike, I immediately feared the worst. I thought that the ligaments might have been injured during the race, but fortunately the visits
I’ve made to the doctor ruled that possibility out.”
The 30-year-old rider added to his statements, added, “It needs rest, but we’ve had very few days off. The problem had to do with the blood circulation around the scar after the s***w was removed.”
French Puniet has claimed seventh best results at the Le Mans track with podiums in the 250cc category, at the venue. He feels relaxed to race in front of his home crowd.
Team-mate, Loris Capirossi, made significant progress in the Estoril round and is confident to benefit from the post race test session.
The Italian was stating about the event and said, “The test after the Estoril race showed that we’re making progress with the bike. The problem with the front seems to have been solved, along with some other small issues. Sure, the bike isn’t perfect, but
the work we carried out makes us optimistic about the future.”
The veteran motorcycle racer added to his words that the team wants to show their performance capability. He hopes that his team will prove their mettle to the fans and rivals. The team has just started after the previous round and there are plenty of races
ahead, to make the perfect bike for a decent victory.
