Randy Foye could return for Los Angeles Clippers
Randy Foye could return from a left hamstring injury on Saturday 20 November when the Los Angeles Clippers go up against the New York Knicks at the Staples Center.
Foye, who hurt his left hamstring in their second game of the season on 29 October against the Golden State Warriors, missed the team’s last 10 games including their 113-111 loss against
Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.
Foye could have played for the Clippers, but team trainers decided to sit him out for two more games.
“They were telling me, ‘It's going to get better. It's going to get better,’” said Foye, who averaged 10.1 points per game with the Washington Wizards last season. “And as I run, I'm like,
'Man, this is not feeling any better.' But these last couple of days, I've started to really turn the corner.”
Head coach Vinny Del Negro hopes that Foye’s return will solve their offensive woes, and the first-year Clippers coach admitted that he is having a hard time finding the right combination
for his young squad.
“If it was easy, everybody would do it,” said Del Negro when asked about making the right adjustments to end their seven-game losing skid. “It's hard stuff. It seems easy, but you're managing
a lot of personalities, a lot of young kids, trying to keep their confidence up."
Del Negro also added that they are struggling to execute their offence and protect the ball, especially during the crucial stages of the games that they could have won, had they executed
their plays properly.
“We're not in a position to make a lot of adjustments, which you need to do during games,” said Del Negro, who took over the coaching helm after Mike Dunleavy stepped down during the off-season.
“We're playing hard, but we're not playing hard the whole game. We are having some lapses and that's just youth. They've got to go through growing pains.”
The Clippers will try to end their seven-game losing skid when they travel to Indianapolis on Friday 19 November to face the Indiana Pacers at the Conseco Fieldhouse.
