Randy Moss enjoying San Francisco 49ers training camp – NFL News
After missing an entire National Football League (NFL) season, wide receiver Randy Moss has finally got a chance to take the field again.
After signing a one-year contract with the 49ers, Moss will become part of 49ers active roster in the 2012 season.
He has taken part in some offseason activities this year and at present he is at training camp enjoying the company of his teammates and coaches.
Moss, 35, is like a coach to many youngsters and even the team’s head coach Jim Harbaugh enjoys the veteran’s company.
On first day of training camp, Moss, Harbaugh and other players expressed excitement of being with each other. According to the details present on the team’s official website, Moss said:
“I love being in the locker room, I love being around the guys. These guys are younger, they’re very enthusiastic. I don’t really feel my age being around these guys.”
49ers are contenders of Super Bowl this year and Moss’ addition is going to help the team’s cause as the offence struggled to perform well as compared to the defence last season.
Moss is the not the only addition to the 49ers offensive line this year. The team has added Mario Manningham, Brandon Jacobs and other players as well.
At the moment, it is not clear what offensive strategy the 49ers will use in the upcoming season. Given the changes they have made on the roster, it is assumed that all eyes will be on them and the other teams will be preparing well to counter them.
Moss is also not sure about his role, but he is looking forward to performing well at whatever role the head coach assigns him. He said:
“I’ve been around the block a few times to really understand what (Harbaugh) wants from me. We have a young team here and with me being a veteran… just trying to bring something positive as far as my leadership on and off the field. Hopefully, it’s been
a good thing.”
Meanwhile, 49ers quarterback Alex Smith also praised Moss’ game and attitude. The quarterback said of Moss:
“He’s a great communicator out there, he sees things really well. It’s been great working with him, honestly I’ve learned a lot.”
