Randy Orton retains World Heavyweight Championship at Over the Limit: WWE News
The World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton retained the Championship at WWE pay-per-view event 'Over the Limit' after defeating his opponent Christian. 'Over the Limit' took place tonight at Key Arena in Seattle, Washington on May 22.
Five days after drafting to Friday Night SmackDown, The Viper, Orton won the World Championship over the former Champion Christian on May 6. The Championship match was decided by the WWE Universe. Christian was the only superstar, who could defend
his championship for the shortest duration of five days. He took the title after defeating Alberto Del Rio at Extreme Rules on May 1 and lost on May 6.
The Captain Charisma, Christian, got the title shot again when he defeated Sheamus and Mark Henry for Number One Contender match on May 13, during Friday Night SmackDown. 'Over the Limit' was the first pay-per-view event for 'The Viper' to defend his
title.
On May 20, Christian faced Sheamus on the start of Friday Night SmackDown while the World Champion, Orton, faced Henry in a non-title match. While Christian was beating Sheamus, Henry interrupted the match and started beating Christian. 'The Viper'
came out and made a save for his opponent. Similarly, when Orton was fighting with Henry, Sheamus interrupted. Christian came out and saved his opponent of 'Over the limit'. The both superstars showed their respect for each other before their championship
match.
At 'Over the Limit', they both fought friendly during the match. Before the start of the match, they shook hands with each other. The both superstar were much passionate of winning the World Title. During the match, Christian hit his friend with Edge’s
finishing move 'Spear', but Orton kicked out on two. Orton also tried to punt him, but he stopped.
'The Viper' took the match after hitting Christian with an RKO. After the match, Orton helped Christian to stand up. Christian shook Orton’s hand again and they embraced. The WWE applauded both wrestlers with huge pop. 'The Viper' was ranked second
on May 21, before the 'Over the Limit' event. He may take the first place again due to this amazing victory.
