Randy Wolf to start for the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 4 – MLB Playoffs
Randy Wolf has been picked up to start the Game 4 of the National League Division Series for the Milwaukee Brewers against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The 35-year-old Milwaukee veteran has both experience and talent to overwhelm the Arizona Diamondbacks’ offence.
Importantly, he has .543 winning average as he has heaped no less than 127 wins ever since 1999. Because he has years of experience to adorn his professional career, he can also take pride in being among the one of only five pitchers in the last decade to
maintain such an impressive average.
However, much as he has to offer for the Milwaukee Brewers, he would rather not have to play against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The team, according to him, comprises a pool of talent that can wreck havoc on any team at any time.
"They have a good balance," Wolf said. "They're one of those teams that, once they get the ball rolling, you have to really slow them down, because they're pretty tough. They have a good balance of contact guys and power guys that can really do some damage.”
For Wolf, as he puts it, it is certainly not easy to identify soft spots in the Arizona Diamondbacks to capitalise upon. Having an array of strategies that the Diamondbacks usually effectively use, Wolf is not only wary of them but also wants to counter
them.
Nonetheless, on Wednesday, he was of the view that the day’s game was one in his career that he would not like to pitch in. "It's probably one of the few times in my career where I don't want to pitch tomorrow," Wolf said on Tuesday afternoon.
Nonetheless, with a 3.69 ERA in 2011 regular season, Wolf has been singlehandedly responsible for winning 13 games for his team, having 134 strike-outs and having a 1.32 WHIP in 33 games that he played.
It will be interesting to see how he, with his seeming unwillingness to pitch, takes on the Arizona Diamondbacks in one of the most crucial games for his team.
