Swansea City defender, Angel Rangel, let out his bemusement over the rumours of a rift between the squad and the management, terming them as being totally absurd.
Some reports surfaced recently which revealed that some of the Swansea players had apprehensions over the way http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup was running the club.
A few days back, the 48-year-old Dane called upon his team to stand united and set aside all personal grievances and only commit themselves to the betterment of the team.
The defender, who has been at the Liberty Stadium for quite some time now, stated that he was not aware of any dispute between the manager and the players.
He said that the entire squad stood united behind Laudrup and rubbished all the talk of differences in their ranks.
“There is nothing wrong within the squad. Everyone is happy with how the manager is coaching on the training pitch and with games. So I was surprised at the stories; I cannot see any player going against the manager,” he was quoted as saying to the media.
The South http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wales-c3041 outfit have failed to record a single win in their last five matches.
Their performance in the rearguard has been particularly lacklustre, as the defence has struggled time and again to keep a clean sheet.
The Spanish International admitted to his side’s shortcomings in the last few games. He felt that they were guilty of committing too many errors but refused to pin all the blame on the defenders.
“We are a team and sometimes we have been unfortunate with individual mistakes… It is not just the defence, you don’t concede goals because the defenders are playing badly just as you don’t score goals because strikers play well,” he added.
Swansea will lock horns with Wigan Athletic on Saturday at the Liberty Stadium in a match which will witness the return of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martinez-c24468 to the Welsh club.
The Spaniard earlier managed the Swans in 126 matches in between 2007 to 2009, before making a switch to Wigan in June, 2009.
Rangel acknowledged the services which Martinez rendered for the cause of Swansea.
He further said that the Latics boss was his ‘football father’, as he was only able to break into professional level under his management.
