Rangers FC closing in on ADO Den Haag’s Wesley Verhoek – Dutch Eredivisie news
Reports from The Hague confirm that Scottish Premier League giants, Rangers FC, have tabled a bid to sign ADO den Haag’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wesley-Verhoek-c36800. The 24-year-old has remained the subject of interest from a host of elite European clubs for quite some time after his
exceptional performances for ADO in the 2010/11 season.
Verhoek is regarded as one of the best wingers playing in Dutch top tier. The highly-rated winger started his professional career in the 2004/05 season after spending years in ADO’s youth academy.
The wide-man has so far played well over 150 games, scoring 25 goals and providing plenty of assists. The 24-year-old performed even more impressively in the season ended by scoring seven goals while providing 14 assists in 32 appearances. His good performances
earned him interest from a host of elite European clubs, but the winger has so far denied moving away from Kyocera Stadion.
Nottingham Forest had earlier tabled a bid to acquire the winger’s services in the ongoing summer transfer market but failed to reach an agreement with the club. Following the failed attempt at a transfer, the Gers also expressed their desire to add the
winger to their ranks ahead of the new season.
Ally McCoist, the Gers head coach, is a great admirer of the Dutchman and has shown his interest by tabling a bid for the wide-man. According to close sources, the Gers have offered ADO in the region of £1 million  to acquire the winger’s signature.
Verhoek has an ongoing contract with ADO that is due to expire in the summer of 2012. Reports suggest that the ADO management is looking to prolong his stay by offering the winger an extension to his current contract in the coming days.
However, it remains to be seen whether the 24-year-old intends to stay in the Dutch top tier or will the offer from the Scottish giants prove too tempting for the highly-rated winger to turn down.
